Services
Collard Transport provides Power-Only services complete with tractor and driver throughout the United States and Canada to pull customer owned equipment including flatbeds, chassis, containers, exhibition trailers, special event trailers, dry vans, refrigerated vans, and specialty trailers for local runs or for long haul. If it's a road-worthy trailer, we can probably transport it. In addition, drivers have experience in over-size equipment, and we can meet your needs for one-way trailer transport or round trip. Further, power units come with sliding fifth wheels to fit your trailer's configuration and turning clearance.
We serve a wide variety of customers - big and small - from such diverse industries as entertainment, medical, intermodal, portable equipment, machinery, government/military, and transportation equipment.
In addition, Collard Transport has the experience and knowledge to accommodate whatever your Power Only transportation needs may be, throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Trade Show
Every year, manufacturers and suppliers have their products transported to trade shows across the North American Continent for exposition. This is a critical marketing component for most businesses as they use the opportunity to sell new product lines and display innovative technology.
At Collard Transport, Trade Show and Expo shipping is taken to the highest levels: a no-nonsense approach with a sincere sense of urgency. We understand the pressures and timelines the professional exhibitor and support staff faces. We can even rescue delayed, misrouted or stranded shipments from other shipping and trucking services.
Collard Transport uses mostly 53 foot Air Ride Trailers to transport your trade show freight into and out of trade show venues. Collard Transport assures that only qualified drivers are used - those who know and understand the importance of on-time delivery and proper handling.
We want to make your next tradeshow a success, and understand that you may have questions. Our experienced staff is very knowledgeable in this area, and we ask that you call us as we know that each company is unique, and, therefore, the solution to your particular needs will also be unique.
Dry Freight
At Great Western, we have a team who will advise and recommend precisely which type of truck and / or trailer equipment is best for each particular shipment. The use of Dry Vans, Curtain Vans, Logistics Vans (with blanket wrap capability), Refrigerated Vans, Flatbeds (std, single drop, double drop, RGN and stretch) and Over-Dimensional Bed Trailers is enough to make one's head spin; so, if you have a question about the best type of trailer for your freight, call or contact us.
It is important to know that the use of van, flatbed, or another type of trailer is fundamental to proper cost avoidance and efficient operation in the trucking industry. In the meantime, take a look at the information below on Dry Freight Vans to help you understand a few of the fundamentals.
Truckloads, also known as Full Truckloads (FTL or sometimes TL), are typically priced by the mile. This service usually gives you exclusive use to the flatbed or van, regardless of how full the particular trailer is. Truckload shipping can utilize van or flatbed trailers, depending on your shipment configuration. Often, businesses with freight to ship will contact truckload carriers even though the particular shipment in question may not fill up an entire trailer. Your partial truckload shipment can be priced well below Full Truckload (FTL) pricing.
For example, Collard Transport may have a partial truck load going from San Francisco to Atlanta, and you may have a shipment that needs to be transported from San Francisco to Memphis. By filling a 53' Dry Van with both shipments, you can save a great deal of money!
Refrigerated
At Collard Transport, we understand there’s no margin for error when shipping refrigerated commodities – whether they be frozen, chilled or simply temperature controlled. That’s why we make equipment available that combines state-of-the-art refrigerated equipment with experts in the field to provide you with the most reliable refrigerated cargo transportation services available today. So whether you're shipping produce, beef, chicken, seafood, pharmaceuticals, or anything in between, go with people who know – Collard Transport.
The 53-foot trailers that we use provide maximum cube and most have bulkhead capability, so we can handle those mixed temperature shipments. Moreover, the air-ride suspension system cushions the ride so that your product arrives in the same condition it was when loaded. We can transport your goods at temperatures ranging from minus 20 to plus 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and hold them at the temperature you specify, and we do this nationwide and to Canada.
Flatbed
Some shipments require that the main deck be free of walls or ceiling constraints and require a flatbed trailer for loading or unloading ease and speed. Again, there is a wide variety in flatbed trailers which accommodate the flatbed trucking of almost any type of shipment. Flatbed trucking also serves the needs of customers transporting special equipment such as: the wide load, the long load, the oversized load, the heavy haul load, or any other type of trucking which can legally move by highway in North America and Canada, and cannot move in a van. We handle standard, wide, heavy and over-dimensional flatbed trucking freight.
